St. John Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the America's

The late Reverend Walter L. Gill founded St. John FBH Church in September 1962. After serving as a member at Mt. Calvary FBH Church in Kannapolis, Reverend Gill knew that God had a greater calling for his life. He would become a church pastor!! He set out looking for a building that he and some of the other saints could use as a 'meeting place'.

When Reverend Gill discovered the building that would become St. John, the current owner knew there was something special about Walter so he decided to sell him the property. It was just a three-room house with an outhouse in the back corner of the lot. It would become a place where the saints worshipped and served the Lord.

Pastor Gill, and a handful of people, knew they had to put God first. They held worship service in what was the living room of the house. The saints praised the Lord so, that not long afterwards, the people in the community were talking and coming to see what was going on in that 'little house down the hill.' Soon partitions were coming down to allow more room for praise and worship!! Through time more partitions came down and some other remodelings occurred. Little did they know, this small building would produce generations of saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled children!! However, LITTLE is MUCH when GOD is in it.

"And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: FOR HE THAT IS LEAST AMONG YOU ALL, THE SAME SHALL BE GREAT." Luke 9:48
